Toyota Japan launches all-new Sienta MPV; check details | Zigwheels

The all-new 2022 Sienta MPV has made its way to the Japanese market and we can’t get over the vehicle's new design and highly equipped feature kit that has won everyone’s heart.

Let’s now get to know the all-new Toyota Sienta in detail -

Platform: Toyota’s new 7-seater MPV benefits from structural reform of the brand's car manufacturing. It adopts the TNGA ‘GA-B platform’ with the engine and platform revamped to improve the car’s basic performance of ‘running, turning, and stopping".

Engine: The new Sienta is powered by a naturally-aspirated Dynamic Force 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. The unit generates a maximum power of 120 PS along with a peak torque of 145 Nm. The drive is transmitted to the wheels via a direct Shift-CVT gearbox.

Design: Toyota’s latest MPV showcases a sort of smooth and curved design language that is a bit easy on the eyes. Thus giving it a vibe of the perfect urban family car. The car gets what Toyota calls the ‘Shikakumaru’ circle and square design complemented by its large windows, large side protection mouldings, and LED lighting units.

Spacious & comfortable cabin: The new Sienta gets a pretty spacious cabin with enough room for seven individuals. It also packs several comfort and convenience features making trips of every length easy and joyful. Part of the Sienta specs sheet is - a hands-free dual power sliding door with anti-pinch function, dual power sliding door with a one-touch switch, low & flat floor (330 mm from the ground), rear assist grip, front door pull handle grip, 2nd-row seat with tumble mechanism, rear seat sunshade, ceiling circulator, seat heater, steering heater, and several USB ports.

The connectivity front of the MPV is strong too thanks to the 10/8.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with FM, Bluetooth, voice recognition, navigation, Wi-Fi, ‘My Toyota+’ smartphone app, and more.

Safety: The 2022 Sienta benefits from an array of safety and security features thus bringing a lot of calm to the driver and passengers. Included in the pack are advanced driving assistance features like Advanced Park. It also comes with the Toyota Safety Sense safety package with pre-crash safety collision avoidance support type with detection function/millimetre wave radar & monocular camera system, vehicle/pedestrian detection function, ‘Intersection’ function, emergency steering assistance function, acceleration suppression function at low speed, road sign assist proactive driving assist, start delay notification function, and much more.

Toyota Malaysia's lineup previously included the Sienta MPV before getting discontinued. So, will it make a comeback in its new and revised form? The details are unknown at the moment, however, if the car ever makes a comeback, it will be greeted with smiles and excitement for sure.
